CSR at Bisman

India is the first country in the world to make  corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandatory, following an amendment to The Company Act, 2013 in April 2014. Businesses can invest their profits in areas such as education, poverty, gender equality, and hunger. Although Bisman does not come in the ambit of the provision, it carries out various CSR projects, most of which are related to environmental sustainability and ecological balance and conservation of natural resources. Some of the ongoing CSR activities are;

Awareness programs through Lectures and seminars:

• Organised seminars on ;
  • "Handling of bio-medical Waste" for the house keeping staff of the Hospitals.
  • "Good Manufacturing Practices" for the purpose of creating awareness among the MSME about the best manufacturing methods and processes
• Awareness Programs held for the benefit of ;
  • Industrial workers on the safety measures to avoid occupational hazards in dealing with chemicals and dyes
  • Villagers and workers in various industries in Padra and Jambusar Talukas of Gujarat State on Hazards of using Industrial waste water for agriculture and domestic use.
• Workshop and seminars on - Environment Awareness and urban pollution sources; Waste minimization and cleaner production in Fishing Industries; Potential of Recycle Reuse, Waste to wealth conversion, Waste reduction & Cleaner Production

Help to underprivileged children and Capacity Building amongst school children

Bisman collaborates with a NGO educating the underprivileged children. Also, Bisman regularly conducts audio visual presentations and interactions amongst the school children in various schools on vital issues like energy/water conservation, waste reduction/recycling, sanitation habits and good citizens’ responsibilities. These programs are conducted round the year and also guide the children for various avenues to pursue after completion of schooling. We pool resource persons from various disciplines to share their experiences to the younger generation.
